Big baby!

Here is Kitty sitting in the new baby (doll) carriage that we got at the D.I. (She climbed in herself...)

DH waterskiing??

The last 2 weeks, some of DH's co-workers have been going waterskiing once a week right before work. They have been going to Deer Creek Reservoir which is close to their work. Here are some pictures of DH actually waterskiing. This is his first time ever getting up on the skis (he hasn't skied since he was a kid). He tried a slalom ski the second week and had a harder time getting up...

Strike a pose!

Here is Kitty posing for the camera in my new shoes. All three of our girls have found these shoes irresistible. Whenever they are left out, one of the girls can be found wearing them around the house...

Growing up too fast

Signs that Kitty is growing up too fast:
She has been found playing with her dad's wallet, drinking from her own capri-sun, and cleaning the fridge.

Silver Lake

We drove up to Silver Lake with my parents on Saturday. It's up at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon where the Brighton Ski Resort is. There's a short hike that goes all the way around the lake. The kids especially enjoyed the ground squirrels (that wanted to eat our lunch) and the ducks. There were some baby ducks that kept diving under the water for us.

Princess Blondie

Blondie LOVES to dress up and wear pretty dresses. This is a dress that she received for her birthday from Grandma S when they came out for M&M's baptism.
Princess Blondie fell asleep in the dress (over top of her pajamas) while we were reading scriptures...

Trouble times 2!

It's funny watching Kitty & Blondie play together. Usually if one of them is doing something, the other one will come over and join along as was the case in these pictures:

The Mayan

The Mayan
Saturday, August 5 - The evening following M&M's baptism, we went to The Mayan which is located Sandy, UT for dinner. Both sets of grandparents were able to come with us. This was our first time eating there and it was an interesting experience. The food wasn't very new or different (Mexican-style dishes), but there was some fun entertainment for the kids (and adults). They have cliff divers there that perform some dives every half hour and then they had some balloon makers going around from table to table making balloons for people. The kids were able to request specific balloons. When we left the restaurant, we had 4 happy kids with: Cinderella, a sea horse, Darth Vader and a butterfly. It was pretty amazing to watch them being made...

Luke starts kindergarten!

Tuesday, August 1 - Luke was very excited to start kindergarten! Blondie was upset that she wasn't able to go too!

It rained a little bit while they were waiting for the bus...

Exciting times for M&M!

First day of 3rd grade!
Tuesday, July 25 - M&M has 2 teachers this year for third grade - they team teach. One teacher teaches on Monday & Wednesday and the other teacher teaches on Tuesday and Thursday and then they alternate Fridays. One of the advantages to this arrangement is that the class will usually not need a substitute because the other teacher can fill in if one of them gets sick. We've heard from a couple of people that have had them that it works very well for them and the students really like both of the teachers.

Birthday Party!

Saturday, July 29 - M&M had an outdoor birthday party this year. The theme was "Fun in the Sun" (Mom N. - we finally used the sun pinata). The girls all wore their swimsuits to the party. They decorated some foam visors, ate pizza for lunch, played with water balloons & squirt guns, broke open the pinata, opened presents, and then decorated and ate cake cones & ice cream. M&M really enjoyed herself!

Baptism!
Saturday, August 5 - M&M was baptized by her dad on a beautiful Saturday morning. (I definitely started feeling older once I realized that my oldest child was going to be baptized!) It was a nice baptism program. She was baptized with another girl from our ward. Grandma N was able to give a talk and I played a flute solo of primary songs with Grandma S accompanying me. Then there was a talk from the other family and then the girls were baptized and confirmed. We are grateful to both sets of grandparents for making the trip out to be there on M&M's special day!
