This is the first year that I have ever had carrots grow in our garden. I have planted them in the past and have just never had any sprout and grow - our soil is just too hard and rocky. This year I still didn't have a lot of success, but I did get a couple of carrots that I picked last week and put in a soup I was making. 
What more can you ask for?
