..spending over $300 in portraits from J.C Penney Portrait Studios for just one kid!! Well, that's what someone spent for pictures for their 2 year old daughter the same day that I took Kay in for her 3 year old pictures (and I spent less than $20 on Kay that day)...

Yeah, that's nutty! They could have hired a photographer to come to their house and do a photo shoot and get all the pictures for less than that!
