Christmas Eve Activities

On Christmas Eve, the kids decorated the Gingerbread House that Grandma N gave us. When the kids were finishing up decorating the house, we noticed that the roof was starting to slide apart (even though we followed the directions). The kids thought that it was a lot of fun watching the roof slowly fall off and they started pushing some of the candies into the hole that was forming on the top.

Grandma & Grandpa S drove over to our house during a nice snow storm and joined us for dinner. Then we sat around the piano singing Christmas songs and then we read the story of the birth of Jesus from the scriptures. The kids all opened up a new pair of pajamas and then we spent the next few minutes watching Kitty dance around like a ballerina in her new Dora nightgown with matching ballet-type slippers - it was a pretty funny sight.

The kids actually went to sleep relatively quickly and I mixed up a breakfast casserole and beef stew to start cooking when we got up in the morning. DH & I made it to bed before midnight!!
