Family vacation part 6 - Seattle

After the beach along the Washington coast we had a long drive ahead of us to get near Seattle to find a hotel room for the night. We finally made it to Olympia around 11:00 and the first hotel we tried was full. The hotel worker recommended a hotel down the freeway another exit and it took us a little while to find it, but we finally did and they had rooms available - and for quite a bit cheaper than the hotel stay the night before. The next morning we slept in a little and then took the kids down to the Continental Breakfast. Both hotels had very nice free Continental Breakfasts that we all enjoyed. Then we packed up the car and headed up to Seattle to visit my youngest brother, Dan, his wife Kami and their baby boy.

After some confusion on their address we finally found their apartment and ate lunch there. Baby K loved being out of her car seat and wandering around the apartment exploring baby E's toys. The kids enjoyed playing the Wii for a little bit and then after much deliberating we decided to go downtown to the Seattle Space Needle. It is quite expensive, but we had fun seeing the view from the top. It was a SUPER HOT day for Seattle (upper 90s) so we decided to call it a day after we drove along the shoreline. We got a little bit of a feel for Seattle and now have an idea of what to see next time we go there. It really isn't that far from DH's parents' house so I can see us taking a day trip now and then in future visits.

Thanks Dan and Kami for spending the day with us - especially Kami who was in some pain from some kidney stones!!Dan's baby loved Blondie's hair. She was wearing it in 2 side ponytails that day and he saw those as the ultimate grabbing toy! In these pictures he is trying with all his might to attack her and get a hand on both of the ponytails!!
