Pumpkin Carving 2009!

Friday, October 30, 2009
We all had a lot of fun carving our pumpkins this year. It started out with a trip to our garden to get our very own pumpkins that we were able to grow this year! We ended up with 6 pumpkins this year - 4 good sized ones, 1 small one and 1 kind of funny looking, lopsided one. Baby K loved our small pumpkin and would pick it up and carry it around the house all the time. That gave us one pumpkin for each of the kids, plus an extra one. So each of the kids chose a pumpkin and picked out their own design for it. It is nice that as the kids get older they need less help from parents and can do more on their own. M&M and Luke carved their pumpkins all by themselves and Blondie even did a good portion of hers on her own. She really got into it and even though she picked out a really hard design, she stuck through to the end helping her dad with it.

My parents were also able to come over and carve pumpkins with us.
I love the fact that markers just wash right off of pumpkins! Baby K had fun sitting on Grandpa's lap and coloring on her pumpkin with markers!!

And here are the finished products:
The kids with their masterpieces!
