Baltimore Aquarium

Wednesday, October 4
On Wednesday, my parents and the kids and I drove to Baltimore, MD to visit the National Aquarium in Baltimore. The last few times we've visited my parents we've talked about visiting the aquarium and then have backed out when we find out the admission fees that they charge. This year we decided that we were going to go regardless of the price since this will probably be our last opportunity.

We saw a dolphin show first and then we saw an exhibit on frogs. (They were all such bright colors and unusual looking that they all looked fake...) The frogs in this picture are Poison Dart Frogs.

We saw some of the characters from Finding Nemo: Marlin & Nemo, Dory and Bruce...
(It was hard taking pictures at the aquarium because everything is behind glass. Some things didn't turn out very well without a flash because it was too dark and when you did use a flash, you get a bright light reflecting off the glass. The picture here of the shark was the best one I was able to get - they were kept in pretty dark conditions...

Kitty enjoyed seeing the fish and turtles at her level...

What the aquarium is known for is the floor to ceiling glass enclosure full of fish (it is four stories high). There is a walkway that circles around as you walk down from the fourth floor.

That is really neat. How much was it? I wish they had something like that around here!
