Renaissance Festival

Saturday, Sept. 30
Every year since 1977, Maryland has been putting on a Renaissance Festival that gets bigger and bigger each year and attracts more and more people. My parents & sister have been wanting to attend for several years now and since I was in town while it was going on, we decided to all go this year.
It was an interesting experience and I don't know if I would recommend taking kids (not to mention that the entrance fee was very expensive and just about everything at the festival you had to pay extra to do) - there were some fun activities that we were able to watch and participate in.
We watched a jousting match, archers, jugglers and some music groups. The kids were able to ride ponies, go down a huge slide, climb "Jacob's ladder", shoot some arrows and wear masks for a song that an acapella group was singing.

Those events can be costlly but what memories you've helped create! Looks like they had a blast.
