Oxen Hill Farm

Monday, Oct. 2

Oxen Hill Farm is a small, historic animal farm just across the Potomac River in Maryland that I have been visiting for as long as I can remember. There have been changes made over the years, but it's still fun to visit and take the kids to. On this trip, Grandma S & Aunt M were able to accompany us...

At first we thought that it was going to be bad day to visit (it turned out to be a fairly hot and humid day), but then the horses came over to us and wanted to be petted. Blondie and Kitty thought that was fun!!
The one disappointment was the sheep and goats who were hiding in their barns for the most part. The farm can be really fun to visit in the springtime when there are lots of baby animals around.

We also were there at just the right day and time to be able to take a free wagon ride around the farm and down to the Potomac River. (They are only offered on Mondays and Thursdays at 1:30.)

Kitty liked this rooster because he kept crowing at us...
