Testimony

On Fast Sunday this month, Luke and M&M bore their testimonies in Sacrament Meeting for the first time. Last month during testimony meeting, DH said that Luke turned to him and asked how you bear a testimony and what you have to say. Luke and then M&M wanted to go up and bear their testimonies and wanted to know how to do it. (I was out in the mother's room feeding Baby K.) DH told them a little about it but said that we would discuss it in Family Home Evening that month and that they should practice it at home first. Then DH got up and bore his testimony to set an example for the kids.

So later that month we talked about testimonies and let the kids each take a turn bearing theirs for the family if they wanted to. Then on August 3rd M&M asked me before church if she had to bear her testimony that day. I told her that she could if she wanted to but that we weren't going to force her to. So after the Sacrament a couple of people got up and then Luke asked me if he could go up to the front. I let him go and he bore a nice testimony and then Emily went up a couple of people later.

It was really neat seeing the desire in them to share their testimonies and it was nice because they weren't memorized or told to them. The testimonies that they shared were their own words and came from their hearts. It was a neat experience for the whole family and DH and I were very proud of them.
