Neighborhood flood

Apparently this is what happens in our new neighborhood when it rains really hard:

We live on a cul-de-sac - 3 houses down from this stop sign.  Thankfully the flooding stayed mostly to the street and only went up just barely past the first house on our street.

And this is where the water all ended up - the field at our neighborhood park. The field is surrounded by a hill on all sides.  There is probably at least 10 feet of water here at the deepest point.

It's raining, it's pouring!

This is what happens when your kids grow up in Utah:

It is such a phenomenon when it rains that they have to go outside and play in it!  It was absolutely pouring this day!  And there were a couple of times where it slowed down and looked like it was going to stop and then it would start up again really hard.  I think it rained for a good 20 minutes or so which is unusual for a July day in Utah.

Wet soccer!

Kitty in particular had a couple of really wet games.  There was also one game of Luke's where I remember getting soaked on the sideline while I was trying to coach!  Here are some pictures as proof that it can rain here sometimes in Utah:

At first Kitty was not enjoying herself but then towards the end of the game it was so ridiculous the amount of water on the field that she was laughing.  (And I was out there refereeing the game.)
