After the lake we had dinner back at the house and then I packed up with my 3 younger kids to return home because they had already missed the first 2 days of school. On our way out of town we met up with the rest of the family in town to get some raspberry shakes before we left.
After I left the rest of the family did an art activity with my brother-in-law who is an artist. They made some small personal-sized mosaics out of tile. They turned out really cute and Kitty in particular was bummed that she missed out on it... We had planned to do it earlier during the reunion but ended up not having time for it. Blondie was cute and made one for each of her sisters that missed the activity.

Bear Lake Family Reunion - Day 3
Tuesday, July 28, 2015
On Tuesday we spent some more time at the lake. My parents rented a large pontoon boat for a couple of hours and we split into 2 groups and took a turn on the water. DH was the designated driver in our group - the only one who had driven a boat before. We went out towards the middle of the lake and then stopped the boat and those that wanted to get into the water jumped in. It is nice, clear water - very blue. It was also pretty cold. Everyone in my family got in except for Luke and MJ. MJ was freezing the whole time we were out on the water and Luke just felt sick being on the boat... DH was very nice and let all of the kids have a turn driving the boat if they wanted to. I think Luke was the only one who didn't want to. The younger girls thought that was a blast!
After our hour was up we went back to the beach to let the other group on. My sister was going to take her baby onto the boat but those that were going to be staying ashore convinced her to let us keep him. I don't think he would have enjoyed it at all - he was not too happy to be wearing a life vest and it was really windy riding in the boat on the lake.
My oldest brother's family brought an inflatable kayak with them and rented (I think?) a paddle board which they let some of our family use as well. The kids (and DH) enjoyed taking turns on them.

Happy 75th Dad!
Monday, July 27, 2015
Monday was also my dad's 75th birthday! We wanted to do a cake but weren't sure how we would get one ordered and picked up without a lot of travelling so I volunteered to make a cake! I ended up baking 4 rectangular cakes beforehand and then on Monday morning I mixed up some frosting and assembled it all together. I made 2 lemon cakes (because that is one of my dad's favorites) and then 2 chocolate cakes. I pieced it together and made one half of the cake lemon - stacked 2 high - and then the other half chocolate. I then frosted the whole thing as one so it looked like one huge cake! It was quite the undertaking! I think it turned out pretty well - it wasn't super fancy but there was plenty for everyone and it tasted pretty good too!
