* MJ finally sleeping a little better. She fell asleep at the end of Blondie's soccer game on Saturday and stayed asleep while I drove home and dropped off some kids, drove to a craft activity, learned how to do a craft and finished it, drove back home and picked up 4 more kids for M&M's soccer game and then drove to M&M's soccer game. Then she finally woke up! She also slept for a few hours so I could get some work done on some Halloween costumes.
* Taking the 3 youngest to M&M's band concert by myself and being able to video tape it as well! (Thankfully they only played 2 songs.)
* Watching the kids play in their soccer games. Blondie always got so excited for her games and practices.
* M&M helping me make dinner on Sunday and then making cookies for dessert.
* Watching M&M and MJ make spitting noises back and forth to each other.
* Getting some really cute 3 month pictures of MJ at the photo studio. It was hard to pick which ones to buy!
* Having my mom come over and help sew Halloween costumes with me.
* Taking 4 kids to the dentist and none of them having cavities.
* Having M&M come to our Relief Society craft night and helping me paint my crafts and tend MJ.

Sleeping pretty
MJ will occasionally let me put her down and stay asleep for a few minutes:
But usually not... This is how she prefers to sleep:

Fist sucker???
MJ has a need to be sucking on something for most of the day, but she won't take a pacifier to save her life. I have tried several different kinds, but she just makes faces and gags on them and spits them out. She will occasionally suck on someone's finger or knuckle, but one can only do that for so long. Lately she has started sucking on her fist and it doesn't matter which hand. Sometimes she will get almost the whole fist in her mouth and be sucking away - rather noisily too...

Cute Kay
I am having a hard time lately getting any cute pictures of Kay. She just doesn't enjoy standing still and smiling at the camera while I try to take a picture. A couple of days ago I was finally able to get a picture of her posing in a cute way - we're still working on the smiling part though... This is a cute outfit that I found on sale just the other day at the store and she loves it - a perfect fall/winter outfit for her. Kay loves skirts and dresses and will throw a fit if I try and put her in any type of pants or shorts (she is getting a little bit better about this). Kay also doesn't like having her hair fixed. I will put it in a ponytail to keep it out of her face and then an hour or so later the ponytail will be gone.

Canning
The kids have been off-track for the last 2 1/2 weeks (with the exception of M&M who is now in middle school). Last year I canned peaches at my parents' house and they turned out to be a big hit with our family so we decided to do it again this year - and more this time. So last week we ended up spending four days at their house canning peaches and making peach jam. The kids were helpful to varying degrees and MJ cooperated most of the time. Probably our biggest help was Blondie who did a great job peeling the skin off the peaches. Luke helped with cutting up the peaches for jam and then M&M was able to come over with us on Saturday and was a big help then. It was a lot of fun but also a lot of work. I will be heading back over there again in the next couple of weeks to can some applesauce.

Observant
Kay is a very observant 2 year old. Don't even try to sneak food around her because she zeros in on it almost immediately and will come over to see what it is and ask for some. She also notices when I am not holding MJ and will ask where she is. Then she will walk around the house searching for her until she finds her. Kay also notices when I am wearing my hair down. After MJ was born I was pulling it back into a ponytail a lot to make nursing a little easier and if I ever took it out of the ponytail she would immediately notice and come and stand by me on the couch so she could hold onto my hair and suck her thumb.

Kid talk
Luke went to the store with my dad today to help him pick up a few things we needed for some jam we were making. My dad said that there was a man at the store that they overheard make the comment that his four sisters were driving him crazy today. Apparently Luke then whispered to my dad, "Well, I have five sisters that drive me crazy!"

Kid talk
When I came home from the General Relief Society Broadcast, Kay ran upstairs and said, "Mom! You missed me!"
On Conference Sunday we were talking about going to Grandma's house after the morning session:
Kay: "Grandma's coming (here)?"
Me: "No, we're going to Grandma's house. Is that okay?"
Kay: "Course!" - (of course)
A little bit later that same day:
Kay: "Am I going to come too?" (meaning to Grandma's house)
Me: "Yes, you get to come."
Kay: "Oh, great!"
Then a little bit later I went out to the garden with some of the kids to pick some vegetables for a salad to take to Grandma's house. Kay brought in a few carrots for me and she took them downstairs to show them to her dad:
DH to Kay: "Are you going to eat that carrot?"
Kay: "No, it's for rabbits."

Kid talk
Kay found a paper today that she had colored at nursery a few weeks ago. She was very excited to show it to me and to tell me that she had colored it at nursery. Then she said to me, "Can I go to nursery? Please, please, please!"
